The National Archives’ API
Developers can explore our Discovery service using our new API (application programming interface).
The National Archives has designed a RESTful interface that allows developers to query the search engine and our Catalogue database within the Discovery service application programmatically, and returns results in XML for further processing.
The service is offered as a beta with some functionality still to be developed. If you would like access to our API, please email us at Discovery@nationalarchives.gsi.gov.uk, and please include the IP address from which you will be sending requests to our API.
